Invite to “Amis”

Welcome to Amis.

The word Amis is the French word for Friends.

Amis is an opportunity for spiritual growth and change.

If you wish to find out more about Amis, click on the Home page link "Introduction".

This will give you an idea what to expect.

These letters were written in 2018/19 as part of the "Amis" initiative. The letters remaind on the website for your perusal.

I strongly advise you to start with Amis Letter 01

and not to proceed to Amis Letter 02 before having reflected on the questions.

About the logo:

The Amis logo (on the front page): Jesus and Friend (or Jesus and Mena) is a Coptic icon exhibited in the Louvre in Paris. Found in a monastery in Egypt, this exceptional painting on wood comes from the monastery of Bawit in Middle Egypt. Dated to the 8th century, it represents Christ (easily recognizable by his halo with a cross) and Abbot Mena, the superior of the monastery. Jesus’ hand rests on the shoulder of Abbot Mena. This icon has also become known as “Jesus and Friend”.
